For example, a Canadian project seeks to enhance Gamal University&#8217;s teaching program for nurse anesthesia students by providing supplies and materials and improving the instructor&#8217;s credentials. The 2021 project builds upon successful past local partnerships efforts by Mercy Ships.<\/p>\n<h2>\n\t\t\tBesoin du projet\t<\/h2>\n\t<p>Selon la F\u00e9d\u00e9ration mondiale d\u2019anesth\u00e9sie, les exigences minimales de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 sont de cinq anesth\u00e9sistes pour 100 000 habitants. Par cons\u00e9quent, pour la Guin\u00e9e, 600 personnes devraient \u00eatre form\u00e9es d\u2019ici 2030, ce qui correspond \u00e0 50 anesth\u00e9sistes par an. \u00c0 ce rythme, la Guin\u00e9e a du mal \u00e0 obtenir les bourses d\u2019\u00e9tudes et les inscriptions d\u2019\u00e9tudiants n\u00e9cessaires pour former les personnes dont le pays a un besoin urgent. L&#8217;Universit\u00e9 Gamal Abdel Nasser de Conakry (Gamal University) is the largest university in Guinea and is located in the capital city of Conakry. Gamal University issues a three-year license to the anesthesia program under the Faculty of Medicine.<\/p>\n<h2>\n\t\t\tImpact du projet 2020 de formation des capacit\u00e9s m\u00e9dicales de Mercy Ships\t<\/h2>\n\t<p>Afin d\u2019augmenter la capacit\u00e9 de formation en anesth\u00e9sie locale, le Dr Donamou a exprim\u00e9 le souhait \u00e0 Mercy Ships de disposer d\u2019un espace d\u00e9di\u00e9 au programme de personnel infirmier en anesth\u00e9sie r\u00e9cemment mis en place \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Gamal.<\/p>\n<p>En r\u00e9ponse \u00e0 cette demande, Mercy Ships a r\u00e9nov\u00e9 et \u00e9quip\u00e9 des installations pour le programme de personnel en anesth\u00e9sie \u00e0 Gamal en 2020. Les travaux comprenaient :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Une salle de classe pour 20 \u00e9l\u00e8ves \u00e9quip\u00e9e de bureaux, de chaises, de tableaux et d\u2019un projecteur vid\u00e9o.<\/li>\n<li>Espace administratif avec trois bureaux, salle de conf\u00e9rence, livres m\u00e9dicaux, bureaux, chaises, armoires, tables et tableaux blancs.<\/li>\n<li>Laboratoire de simulation \u00e9quip\u00e9 de mannequins d\u2019intubation, de mannequins de rachianesth\u00e9sie, de mannequins RCP, de tables, d\u2019armoires et de petits \u00e9quipements pour la formation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Au cours de l\u2019ann\u00e9e scolaire 2020-2021, le programme de personnel infirmier en anesth\u00e9sie a obtenu les r\u00e9sultats suivants :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Dipl\u00f4m\u00e9 les quatre premiers \u00e9tudiants infirmiers anesth\u00e9sistes de Guin\u00e9e.<\/li>\n<li>Augmentation de l\u2019acceptation d\u2019\u00e9tudiants pour les ann\u00e9es de promotion suivantes :<br \/>\n&#8211; First promotion: 4 students<br \/>\n&#8211; Second promotion: 9 students<br \/>\n&#8211; Third promotion: 14 students<br \/>\n&#8211; Fourth promotion: 21 students<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>\n\t\t\tAper\u00e7u du projet de Mercy Ships Canada\t<\/h2>\n<p>Le soutien financier de Mercy Ships Canada \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9cole du personnel infirmier en anesth\u00e9sie \u00e0 permis de fournir l\u2019infrastructure, l\u2019\u00e9quipement et les livres suivants :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Deux salles de classe d\u00e9di\u00e9es au personnel en anesth\u00e9sie.<\/li>\n<li>Un laboratoire de simulation (trois fois plus grand que la taille actuelle) pouvant accueillir une classe enti\u00e8re d\u2019\u00e9tudiants (jusqu\u2019\u00e0 25 \u00e9tudiants) et l\u2019\u00e9quipement de simulation n\u00e9cessaire.<\/li>\n<li>Deux vid\u00e9o-laryngoscopes pour que les enseignants puissent mieux \u00e9valuer et former les \u00e9tudiants \u00e0 l\u2019intubation dans le laboratoire de simulation.<\/li>\n<li>Livres m\u00e9dicaux sp\u00e9cifiques n\u00e9cessaires sur l\u2019anesth\u00e9sie p\u00e9diatrique et les urgences m\u00e9dicales.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Par ailleurs, le docteur guin\u00e9en Joseph Donamou a termin\u00e9 sa formation de professeur.<\/p>\n<figure itemscope itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/ImageObject\">\n\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mercyships.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/Dr-Joseph-PS1500.jpg\" alt=\"Dr Joseph\" height=\"914\" width=\"1500\" title=\"Dr-Joseph PS1500\" onerror=\"this.style.display='none'\" loading=\"lazy\" \/>\n\t<\/figure>\n<p>Dr Joseph dipl\u00f4m\u00e9 \u2013 S\u00e9n\u00e9gal 2022<\/p>\n\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mercyships.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/volunteer-tara-mchardy-gallery-SQ400.png\" alt=\"Volunteer Tara Mchardy\" \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>&#8220;I love that Mercy Ships brings people from all over the world trained in various places and careers to use their knowledge and abilities to make miracles happen every single day.&#8221;
