Le centre m\u00e9dical Esp\u00e9rance est un \u00e9tablissement m\u00e9dico-chirurgical situ\u00e9 dans le village de\u00a0N’Zao<\/a>, dans le sud-est de la Guin\u00e9e. Il fait partie de l\u2019organisation non gouvernementale (ONG), Association Medicale Esperance De Guinee. (https:\/\/hopeguinea.org<\/a>).<\/p>\n

The Hope Medical Centre didn’t possess a central server for their hospital and this project allowed them to professionalize and improve administrative functions of the hospital.\u00a0 The lab equipment replaced outdated items and some of the new equipment helped them perform lab tests that they have be unable to perform. Their autoclaves were more than 20 years old, so this project helped them purchase newer models.<\/p>\n

L\u2019h\u00f4pital signale \u00e9galement une augmentation des accidents de la route, probablement due \u00e0 l\u2019utilisation croissante des motos dans la r\u00e9gion. La table chirurgicale orthop\u00e9dique a permis de mieux s\u00e9curiser et traiter les patients souffrant de traumatismes par rapport \u00e0 l'ancienne table standard existante.<\/p>\n

L\u2019\u00e9quipement de ce projet comprend les technologies de l\u2019information, le laboratoire, les op\u00e9rations, les instruments de st\u00e9rilisation et le mat\u00e9riel chirurgical.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tAper\u00e7u du projet\t<\/h2>\n\t

Le projet a fourni des \u00e9quipements au centre m\u00e9dical afin qu\u2019il puisse continuer \u00e0 offrir des soins \u00e0 la population locale, am\u00e9liorer ses services actuels et son syst\u00e8me de soutien administratif avec des \u00e9quipements et de la technologie. L\u2019exp\u00e9rience de Mercy Ships en Guin\u00e9e confirme que le pays a un grand besoin de services chirurgicaux am\u00e9lior\u00e9s. Pour la plupart des Guin\u00e9ens, les soins m\u00e9dicaux et chirurgicaux sont inaccessibles en raison du manque de prestataires de soins, ou lorsque des soins sont disponibles, leur co\u00fbt est souvent hors de prix.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tImpacts du projet\t<\/h2>\n\t

Mercy Ships and Hope Medical Centre have partnered together for several years, including collaborating for selection of Mercy Ships’ patients, training for the Ponseti method of clubfoot treatment and mentoring for surgeons and nurses.<\/p>\n

Hope\u00a0Medical Centre, Centre M\u00e9dical l’Esperance de N’Zao (CMEZ),\u00a0began as a small health post. A few years later, it received the status of a Medical health centre by the Guinean government. The hospital presently sees between 80 and 100 outpatients a day, with an average of 30 to 35 surgical operations a month.\u00a0The clinic now has 22 beds, and on most days, 20 of those beds are occupied.\u00a0The dental clinic sees around 45-50 people a month for extractions, cleaning and fillings.<\/p>\n
