Ce projet a permis au Global Mercy<\/em> de disposer d\u2019un laser YAG. Les outils m\u00e9dicaux qui cr\u00e9ent des solutions innovantes sont indispensables pour gagner du temps et de l\u2019espace. La capsulotomie au laser YAG est un traitement au laser sp\u00e9cial utilis\u00e9 pour am\u00e9liorer la vision apr\u00e8s une op\u00e9ration de la cataracte. Ce laser peut restaurer rapidement et efficacement la vision apr\u00e8s la capsulotomie. La capsulotomie au laser YAG pour les patients atteints de cataracte est une mesure pr\u00e9ventive visant \u00e0 r\u00e9duire l\u2019opacification future de la capsule post\u00e9rieure du cristallin, la principale cause de vision trouble apr\u00e8s une chirurgie de la cataracte r\u00e9ussie. L\u2019ajout d\u2019une lunette d\u2019observation et d\u2019un s\u00e9parateur de faisceau sur le laser offre des possibilit\u00e9s d'Enseignement, Formation et Promotion de la Sant\u00e9 (ETA) et permet aux m\u00e9decins d\u2019enseigner les techniques et proc\u00e9dures de traitement.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tImpacts du projet\t<\/h2>\n\t

Au deuxi\u00e8me trimestre 2022, le laser YAG a \u00e9t\u00e9 install\u00e9 et test\u00e9 sur le\u00a0Global Mercy<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Les op\u00e9rations de la cataracte de Mercy Ships sont r\u00e9alis\u00e9es en utilisant les m\u00e9thodes et les technologies les plus r\u00e9centes. Les chirurgiens ophtalmologues de Mercy Ships pratiquent des interventions pour corriger les pt\u00e9rygions (excroissances sur la corn\u00e9e de l\u2019\u0153il), le strabisme (yeux crois\u00e9s), les d\u00e9formations des paupi\u00e8res, et remplacent les yeux aveugles, douloureux ou d\u00e9figur\u00e9s par des proth\u00e8ses.
