Brothers Fanirisoa and Vonjy were both born with clubfoot, in Madagascar’s central highlands. Ten years ago, Mercy Ships helped set up a clubfoot clinic there and trained local clinicians in the Ponseti method. Because of that, three-year-old Vonjy could be treated entirely by Malagasy professionals – no outside help needed. His older brother’s more complex case became part of a newer round of mentoring, so local teams can treat harder cases too.
