While living in Lausanne, Switzerland, Don & Deyon Stephens began a journey that led to the founding of Mercy Ships in 1978, with the purchase of the first vessel, the Anastasis.  In 2007, Mercy Ships launched the Africa Mercy, the largest of the four hospital ships operated by Mercy Ships over the past 36 years.
