These are women who have suffered for years in ways few of us will ever know – they are the Faces of Fistula. Thanks to generous donors and loving volunteers, our OBF program was able to treat more than 300 women while the Africa Mercy served in Madagascar from 2014-2016.
If you don’t already, be sure to follow @MercyShipsCA on Instagram and check out the new account that’s been created especially for the week of May 15-23: @FacesofFistula. There are so many OBF patients whose lives have been changed on board our hospital ship that we want to feature as many of them as possible – @FacesOfFistula was developed to be able to feature beautiful dress ceremony portraits that illustrate their ‘before and after’ stories.
We want to raise awareness by inviting all viewers/followers to screenshot a patient from the @FacesofFistula gallery and support her by re-sharing it from their personal account page. Link back to @FacesofFistula and use the hashtag #MercyShips.
We are excited to celebrate our women’s health patients and the role you play in their journey!
