Marilyn Collette brings her 26 years of international development experience to the Chair of Mercy Ships Canada Board of Directors and the International Board of Mercy Ships. Having worked as Senior Governance and China Specialist at the Asian Development Bank and earlier as Planner& Economist for the Canadian International Development Agency and as Counsellor, Development at the Canadian Embassy in Beijing for 22, she is delighted to bring her impact experience and knowledge of the development world to Mercy Ships. Previous to joining the board in 2009, she was Vice-President of the Swiss Advisory Council for Bridges to Justice and Director of International Programs for the National Judicial Institute of Canada. She has lived and worked overseas for 18 years in Malaysia, Cameroon, China, the Philippines and Switzerland. She has a M.S.W. in Social Policy and Evaluation from Carleton University and the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs. Ms. Collette, currently her business, SEChange International, provides assistance to social good enterprises and NGOs to build their capacities, successfully sourcing funding, brokering partnerships to scale-up their innovations. She feels privileged to be part of a hard-working and dedicated Boards of highly qualified professionals.
