We are so excited to announce that this year Mercy Ships Canada supporters from around the country will come together to build a new Hospital Out-Patient Extension (HOPE) Centre in Douala, Cameroon, for the Mercy Ships 2017/2018 field service!
This building will be a crucial component of providing quality, lasting care for the people of Cameroon.
The HOPE Centre is the facility where we care for our patients before and after surgery. This allows the hospital to conduct more life changing surgeries by freeing up bed spaces. The patients and their caregivers stay at the HOPE Center while continuing to receive out-patient care and physical therapy back at the ship. After the Africa Mercy departs, the HOPE Centre will remain as a permanent part of a local hospital and a Canadian legacy of hope and healing.

Our goal is to raise $1,300,000 to build the next HOPE centre. An anonymous legacy donor blessed us with $300,000 to match all giftsin April and $256,405 was raised thanks to the generosity of Canadians across the country, but we’ve still got a ways to go. Every gift counts no matter the size!
The HOPE Centre in Cameroon will begin as an abandoned warehouse, but with your help, will transform into a place of healing! Stay tuned for updates on renovations and our big financial goal.

We hope you will join us in the coming months as we work towards our goal of providing surgical care and medical infrastructure for the people of Cameroon!
